Last September brought us the announcement of Rick Riordan’s imprint with Disney Hyperion, Rick Riordan Presents. Now, we have the first three can’t-miss-’em titles, and we got a cover for Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: The Ship of the Dead.

If you missed the announcement regarding Rick Riordan Presents last fall, you can check that out here. Now we know the first three titles we can expect to see under this new imprint.

Thanks to an exclusive at Publisher’s Weekly, this has become a very happy Rick Riordan news week, especially as we prepare for the release of The Trials of Apollo, Book Two: The Dark Prophecy next week.

The first 3 Rick Riordan Presents titles are:

‘Dragon Pearl’ by Yoon Ha Lee

Dragon Pearl tells the story of Min, “a teenage fox spirit whose brother is missing and thought to have deserted the Thousand Worlds Space Forces in order to find the pearl of the title, an artifact that may have the power to save their struggling space colony.” Look for this story to be released in September 2018.

‘Storm Runner’ by Jennifer Cervantes

Storm Runner follows a 13-year-old boy named Zane as he “must save the world by unraveling an ancient Mayan prophecy.” The article goes on to share that Zane is afflicted with a leg deformity that may have something to do with his ancestry, which he discovers as he learns more and more about his connection to the prophecy. This story will also be published in September 2018.

‘Aru Shah and the End of Time’ by Roshani Chokshi

Aru Shah and the End of Time tells the story of a “12-year-old Indian-American girl who unwittingly frees a demon intent on awakening the God of Destruction.” Chokshi goes on to describe her novel as “Percy Jackson meets Sailor Moon with a great wealth of wonderful Indian mythology.” This will be the imprint’s first release and is just one short year away. Look for it in April 2018.

Who wouldn’t want to check those out? In addition to all this great news, we got our first glimpse at the cover for Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard: Ship of the Dead. It is absolutely fantastic.
