In the very exciting first episode of Revolution, we were introduced to a bundle of unique characters, places and conflicts, setting the stage for a show with a simple, yet intriguing premise: What happens if the lights go out?

The show opened in modern-day America, where we met Ben Matheson and his family just minutes before the world was plunged into darkness. With all power turned off – including phones, planes and computers – the world was left in a state of chaos.

The main premise of the show begins fifteen years later, where mankind has adjusted to a powered-off world, with a collection of republics, run by Monroe, who wants something that Ben has. In fact, Monroe believes that Ben knows why the world lost power in the first place. In a quest for information, Ben’s daughter, Charlie, sets off on a journey to Chicago to find her long-lost uncle, Miles, in hopes that she could uncover information.

Revolution 1×01 was written by Eric Kripke (Supernatural), directed by Jon Favreau (Iron Man), and produced by J.J. Abrams (Lost, Fringe). It stars Tracy Spiridakos (Being Human) as Charlie, Billy Burke (Charlie Swan in Twilight) as Miles, and Anna Lise Phillips as Maggie, Ben’s girlfriend and Charlie’s companion.
