Amanda Clarke (formerly Emily Thorne) has become a permanent fixture in the Hamptons this season with her pregnant return in the season 1 finale. After Sunday’s episode, we might not be seeing too much more of her.
In Sunday’s explosively twisted episode of Revenge, Amanda landed in the hospital after taking a nasty fall during an argument with Victoria. The very pregnant Amanda lay unconscious in the Graysons’ entrance hall, and she did not regain consciousness for the rest of the episode.
Even during the emergency C-Section to deliver her baby.
The baby was reportedly in the NICU struggling for life (even though he looked very healthy), and Amanda was in a coma after her trauma and blood loss.
So will Amanda survive?
Why we think Amanda will live:
- We assume that the baby is going to make it, so Amanda is going to need to take care of her baby. Jack will be lost raising a little one on his own (plus, he can’t afford it).
- Emily still needs Amanda to play nice and infiltrate her way into the Graysons’ lives. She still has work to do.
- Kara Clarke is just being reintroduced to her “daughter,” why would they take that away from her now?
Why we think Amanda will meet her end:
- She has been a pretty annoying character on the show, and she mostly seems to get into trouble. We never know when she’s going to deviate from Emily’s plan in an emotional rage.
- Amanda needs to be out of the picture so Emily can work without worrying about her (even though we said above that she might still need her; we’re never sure which direction the show is going to go).
- Emily needs Amanda out of the way so she can reveal to Kara that Emily is actually Kara’s daughter, and she lets her in on the whole revenge plot.
- Amanda’s death would be an easy way for Emily to continue on without suspicion that she is really David Clarke’s daughter.
However, it also seems that Victoria was right when she told Amanda that Kara was put away because she tried to kill her daughter. So would Emily really want Kara to know she is her daughter? Or would Amanda’s death satiate Kara’s desire to kill her (if she still wants to)?
Overall, we don’t think Amanda is going to make it, but her baby will, and Victoria will take a big part in raising the child.
