Last Sunday’s episode of Revenge showed its viewers Margaux’s more villainous side. What is she thinking, competing with Emily?

Revenge season 4, episode 15, “Bait,” was the first episode back from a month-long hiatus. Before the hiatus, Margaux declared that Emily “would pay” for what she did to Daniel.

Before we get into that let’s recap what happened in “Bait.”

Margaux has hired some contract killer/investigator guy to follow Emily’s every move. While we’re a bit annoyed that Emily hasn’t caught on to him by now, he hasn’t really dug up much dirt on her anyway. He did, however, get a video of Jack confessing to Emily that he murdered FBI agent Kate Black. Once Nolan gets word of this he calls his Wonder Twin and they deduce a plan to get their hands on the video.

Jack assists by having a little chat with Margaux about being parents and he finally brings baby Carl along to hopefully make her feel a bit more sympathetic towards his situation. Louise also has a hand in the plan and it all works out in Team Thorne’s favor.

We are treated to this gem of a moment with Margaux and Emily once Margaux realizes she’s lost the video:

Emily: “If you’re gonna keep coming at me, you’re going to have to be a hell of a lot smarter.”
Margaux: “You think you’re invincible?”
Emily: “Not invincible just… better.”

Emily went to “revenge school” as Nolan puts it. Margaux is a business woman. Emily is also a ninja, sort of. She’s used to this kind of stuff. You know; lies, betrayal, scheming behind the scenes with your best friend. That kind of stuff.

What we don’t understand is that this video will cause Jack more harm than it would Emily. Yes, it shows that he confided in her and she withheld the information from the authorities, but if Margaux is trying to make Emily pay for what happened to Daniel then why drag Jack through the mud?

Why is Emily the one she’s after? Didn’t Victoria explain everything (we assume) to Margaux that happened from day one? If so then Margaux should be upset with David for Daniel’s death, not Emily. AND Jack was the one that killed Daniel’s true killer!

Margaux is no doubt a BAMF, running her own magazine and taking over her father’s business. On the other hand she’s now with child. Is seeking revenge what she should be focusing on at the moment? We’re still irked at the fact that they made the only powerful business woman on the show pregnant, but that’s a story for a different time.

Emily knows better than to hurt Margaux, especially since she’s carrying Daniel’s child. If Margaux keeps this act up we’re not sure what may happen in the future for herself or her unborn child.

Then again, if Margaux doesn’t have her own plot for revenge what storyline does she have?

Revenge season 4, episode 16, “Retaliation,” airs this Sunday at 10 p.m. on ABC.
