Revenge season 4, episode 3, “Ashes,” just finished airing. Read our recap to see what happened with our South Hampton residents this week.

Tonight’s episode starts off with The Stowaway in flames. Jack runs in, finds Emily and saves her life. With Aiden gone it’s nice to know Jack can stand in and actually do some good for Emily. Charlotte watches from afar and shoots them a nasty look. Good thing they’re too busy to notice. Emily is being questioned by the emergency crew and says she was the only one in there. There’s something admirable about sticking up for your sister…that just tried to kill you.

Back at Grayson Manor (still no new name) Nolan is giving Emily the twitter scoop. Victoria is supposedly in Manhattan, but Emily has more pressing matters, which worries Nolan. “I wouldn’t want to be number one on your to-do list today.”

Victoria and David break into a vacant cabin they seem familiar with. She’s already back to manipulating him and they share a passionate kiss. She wants to leave to get money and find a new place for them to stay. Riiiiiight.

Margaux leaves Daniel after their nightcap and he realizes he has six missed calls from Charlotte. He heads down to the lobby and finds Mommy Dearest, Victoria, there. After some unwelcome words, Victoria basically asks her son for money since all of her accounts have been seized by the government after Conrad’s imprisonment and ultimate death. First his sister and now his mother? Grayson money troubles all over.

As he walks away he tells her that Charlotte is doing drugs and tried to commit suicide. The camera pans out and we see that Louise overheard their entire conversation. Louise calls to Victoria outside of the hotel and tells her she was released from Clairmont. Victoria says she’s happy for her, but we see right through it. Louise wants to hang out, but Victoria has better things to do. Louise is up to something. We can feel it.

Nolan and Jack are looking through the remains of the Stowaway when a man walks in and tells Jack that a young woman ran out and told him no one else was in the bar. Jack then calls Emily to come over. Upon arrival, Emily was hesitant to tell him the details, but she comes clean. She says she’s going to stick to her statement to the police that no one else was in the bar.

Victoria comes knocking on Charlotte’s door. Charlotte confesses to knowing that Emily is really her sister Amanda. She’s scared that Emily will be out for blood since she did just try to kill her – last night. Victoria tells her that “they’ll” keep her safe. Yep, Daddy’s alive! No wonder she just tried to kill herself, life must be so confusing.

Victoria brings Charlotte to the cabin and coaches her on what she can and can’t talk about. Charlotte is so easy to manipulate. David and his daughter hug for the first time and it just doesn’t seem as heartfelt of a moment as it should. He’s so genuine with his daughter, but Victoria tells lies and Charlotte doesn’t interrupt.

Daniel meets up with a old friend trying to get a job at his firm. Not happening. He tells Daniel to wait until this all blows over six months to a year. Kinda hard when family is on your back asking for money you don’t have. Margaux meets Daniel for lunch and he tells her he doesn’t want her money. Daniel walks up to his room to find it’s already been packed up as his bill hasn’t been paid in two months. The hotel concierge evicted Daniel in possibly the nicest way anyone can be evicted.

Nolan is busy being a great friend to Emily and all she wants is Charlotte to be in a better place. They discover Charlotte’s location by pinging her phone again. As Emily walks up to the cabin and Victoria is out front, rifle in hand. Emily asks her to just end it already but instead Victoria tells her to buckle up. Emily walks back to her car to find Ben snooping around in his police cruiser. He’s very flirty and she notices but dismisses his advances faster than he can dish them.

Emily tells Nolan she feels Victoria has something up her sleeve. After watching over Victoria for three years, this is the first moment in which she has no clue what’s to happen next. On that note Nolan decides to sleep over a few nights to watch over things.

Victoria tells David Emily stopped by and she wants Charlotte. He’s confused on how Emily found out about everything so quickly. (She’s your freaking daughter! Of course she knows! Except the little detail about you being alive.) Victoria reminds him she’s after their family. She heads out to find money and leaves him to watch over Charlotte.

Jack visits Emily and tells her he doesn’t think he wants to rebuild the bar. It was his dad’s thing, not his. She thanks him before he walks out and we assume it’s because he saved her life, or maybe it’s just in general. So sweet.

Daniel is drinking his sorrows away in the hotel bar (as long as he pays in cash) when Louise sits down next to him after ending a heated conversation with her “financial advisor.” She talks a little too much about being rich and Daniel becomes intrigued. Looks like he’s falling into yet another trap.

Victoria heads over to see Margaux. She tells Margaux how much she misses Pascal, her love, and how in need she is, but she doesn’t want to take any money from her. Margaux decides to call it a loan and we see that twinkle in Victoria’s eyes that she only gets when plans go in her favor.

All the camera feeds are out at Grayson Manor/Emily’s, and Nolan tries reloading them. David Clark jumps from the roof and enters the house, creeping into Emily’s room. Didn’t she learn in ninja camp to be a light sleeper in case of night intruders? The look on David’s face when he sees Emily sleeping is a confused look of recognition. Nolan scares him away with a gun shot that just misses him. So close. So damn close!

This is the father-daughter reunion that we’ve been wanting! Until next week.
