Revenge is continuing to weave a more tangled web with each new episode, and last night’s “Confidence” was no exception. Check out our Revenge recap and tell us your thoughts on the episode!

Last night’s episode gave us a look into Emily’s history with Aiden, and how that is affecting her present interactions with him. Aiden is trying to get involved in Emily’s affairs and steer her back toward her path of revenge and away from looking for her mother. We learned that Aiden failed to save his sister a few years ago, and he doesn’t want Emily to make the same mistakes.

We also found out that Emily and Aiden used to be romantically involved, and Aiden left her when he went to search for his sister. She has been harboring this betrayal for the past four years. Emily keeps trying to push Aiden farther away, but he just keeps embedding himself in Emily’s business.

When they were dealing with the death of the White-Haired Man (whose name we learned was Gordon Murphy), Emily knocked Aiden out and then dropped him in a dumpster with a plane ticket to Japan. Instead, Aiden investigated the motel where Murphy had been staying, and runs into Emily’s mom, who appears to run the place.

Mrs. Clarke, it turns out, was having a romantic relationship with Murphy.

Aiden steals a recorder Murphy had from Victoria’s plane crash, which we assume contains the evidence that Victoria had against Conrad in David Clarke’s murder and the terrorist attack. Aiden promises to give this to Emily, but she has to give him everything off Murphy’s body, which in classic Emily fashion, she doesn’t. She keeps a pocket watch that has her mother’s picture in it.

Speaking of Murphy’s body, what did they do with it? They have to have some kind of plan.

The Graysons are still dealing with the maelstrom of media attention surrounding Victoria’s return, and they hold a press conference to discuss her rescue. Victoria also seems to be pushing Emily away from her family, because it looks like Daniel might still have some feelings for her.

Charlotte and Daniel have both had documents placed in their hands turning them against their mother. Charlotte knows her mother was involved in David Clarke’s murder, and Daniel knows Victoria was planning to flee the country and leave her family behind.

Victoria, always one to seize an opportunity, uses the press conference not to talk about her miraculous survival, but to show her family as a strong unit. She is able to silence her children and her husband by showing the Graysons’ solidarity, putting up a public front that all is well.

Ashley rightly comments, “My God, they’re stronger than ever.”

She also reveals that Charlotte is David Clarke’s daughter, and she even invites pregnant Amanda up on stage since she is Charlotte’s half-sister. Victoria really knows how to manipulate those she loves (and those she doesn’t).

Conrad isn’t letting her get away with too much though. Victoria plans to leave him at the end of the summer, but he is setting up that they are the perfect couple, even telling a reporter that they were having a second wedding. We don’t think he poses too much of a threat to Victoria.

Daniel, however, seems like he will be. He is still incredibly angry with his mother, but he’s pretending that he’s forgiving her. It looks like he’s about to get a lesson from Emily’s revenge school.

The Graysons still think Gordon Murphy is alive, and because of that, it looks like they’ll be getting more deeply involved in the Initiative terrorist group’s dealings.

Nolan makes a couple of appearances – he is getting more involved with NolCorp (maybe because of his new CFO, Padma?), and when Aiden jumps him at Emily’s house. He works with Emily a little to check out Murphy’s phone, but not much comes of it. The only thing Emily is able to glean from it is a voicemail from her mother, which reveals they were lovers.

It seems like we’re being set up for a Nolan-Padma relationship though, since she appears to be jealous of his relationship with Emily.

Jack and Amanda’s relationship is strained, and while Jack cares about the baby, he is unhappy with Amanda for lying about going to Grayson Manor. He doesn’t want their charity, and now she is all too involved with her newly found family. It appears that their relationship is over.

Declan is also caught stealing, which he claims is in order to pay for college. The man he steals from comes to the bar, asks for everything back, and Jack tells him to let him know if there’s anything he can do for him. The man mysteriously says that he’ll hold Jack to that promise.

We know that won’t be the end of that interaction.
