Revenge’s mid-season 4 finale just aired! Read our recap to find out the details of what lead to tonight’s shocking death!

Tonight’s episode of Revenge starts out with Victoria aguing with David about keeping her in he dark about Malcolm. She even insists he ask for Emily’s help.

Daniel goes to Margaux but she’s still angry with him. He tells her that she’s the one running from the situation about the babb – not him.

Nolan and Emily are looking into Kate’s Quantico records and find nothing. Nolan feels a bit guilty though, especially after the Louise ordeal. The tracer that Nolan used on Malcolm’s guy showed him in the morgue. That laed doesn’t sound promising.

Emily plants wires in Kates room and then runs into Ben in the hallway. He tells her that Jack and Kate have been hooking up. We then find Kate and Jack going for a run together, she tells him that she’s using a few vacation days to stay a bit longer and he invites her to Nolan’s reopening of his Yacht Club. So that’s the party of the week.

Nolan visit’s Louise to apologize, he even left her a voicemail! Gasp! He asks her to co-host his event with him and she accepts.

Flashback to 2008, Conrad is talking to Daniel about an incident at a house party. We assume the same house party that involved the acciden with Sarah. Moral of the flashback from Conrad seemed to be: “Dont concern yourself with he little people.” Daniel seems frustrated present day, he asks to have some belongings delivered to him from storage.

Kate shows up at the beach house and shows Victoria the picture of Emily. Kate says she traced the photo back to her. Victoria tells her she prety much has to figure things out on her own but to leave her and David out of it or she’ll call Quantico on her.

Nolan finds that Kate hasn’t registered her secondary phone and Emily plans on getting her hands on it to trace it. Nolan informs her that Jack invited her to the part that evenig. “Don’t even think of turning my club into your own personal battlefild, I just ordered new uniforms.” He quips at her.

Victoria visits Margaux and Margaux asks her if Conrad was always cruel. She then tells her that she’s pregnant. Victoria wants to know why she’s upset. Margaux explains that Daniel’s changed and used to be filled with hope. In a sort of odd moment, we see Vitoria being genuine with Margaux as she tells her that Daniel loves her. Uh-oh. Any genuine moment on this show has a tragic ending.

The yacht reopening has begun and Nolan and Louise make a grand entrance together. Emily looks from afar when David whispers to her from behind the wall. He doesn’t want her to get involved in “what happens next.” She turns to him and he’s gone – a move she usually does herself.

Emily and Nolan are introduced to Kate by Jack. Nolan accidentally drops a drink on her and she heads to the ladies room to wash up. Jack says, “If shes corupt, I want to know. If she’s not, I want an appology.” Emily brings her water and gets her phone while making small talk.

Nolan and Louise chit-chat about her plans to head out to sea the following day. Apparently her brother will do anything to keep their family secrets. Nolan wants to help and tells her to stick around. Does he really feel that badly for digging up her criminal record?

Daniel is looking through a box and finds an old letter he wrote to his father when he then gets a text from Victoria. She wants to talk about Margaux. They meet for dinner. He once again calls his mothwer out on her lies to David. “Surving is all that matters” is something that Conrad used to say and Daniel thinks there is more to life than that. He wants to do more for his child.

This is going to be heaartbreaking. We can already feel it.

Kate asks Emily for her phone back. She says she knows she’s Amanda. She wants Emily’s help because Malcolm is forcing her to work for him because he has her mother held captive. They plan to meet at Emily’s in a half-hour to discuss further. Hmm, we don’t know if we can trust Kate just yet, and Emily doesn’t trust easy either. Hopefully.

David’s preparing drinks for he and Vicoria. He says that everything will be okay, as he pours some substance into her wine glass…

Daniel is out on the beach (Hasn’t he learned that nothing good happens on the beach alone at night?!) reminiscing his father again. Conrad threatened him with the tale of the God Momus – in Greek Mythology he was the god of writers and poets. Conrad ass how Mopmus was rewarded for his honestly and Daniel reeplies that he was banished.

It was that very moment that Conad talked Daniel out of being a good man. Daniel now knows that. He snaps out of it whenm Margaux calls him. She wants him to come back to his hotel room because she wants them to work things out. Of courses he chooses this moment to make that decision. Just as we all can feel that we’re about to lose one of them.

David tels Victoria he can finally be free and they cheers to their future – she doesn’t drink though. She instead tells him that she’s the one that gave Conrad his laptop and she finally feels guilty for keeping that from him. He tells her that she ruined his life. She was scared, especially because David lied about his wife being dead. Then she used David to help herself and Daniel from the bombing situation. David looks at her glass. Does he still want her to drink it? Or is he regretting spiking it now that shge’s confessed?

Kate meets Emily at Thorne Manor and is frisked for weapons. Kate says they need to use bait – money- to get Malcolm to come out. Emily tells Kate she has a good plan and Emily then asks when does she decide to kill her? Kate brings her gun back out and says that now pretty much works.

Emily grins. She never believed her story from the beginning. Kate says that Malcolm is actually her father. Emily just wanted to bring Kate away frm civilians to call her out. Then a fight ensues because Emily emptied Kate’s gun.

Jack finds out on Nolan’s computer that Kate’s real name is Katherine Black. He speeds out to Emily’s.

Daniel hears gunshots at Emily’s from the beach and runs in. (DON’T RUN TOWARD THE GUN SHOTS!) He finds Emily crawling after her and Kate fell from the top of the stairs – eerily reminiscent to Amanda’s fall when she was pregnant. Kate runs to load her gun as Daniel helps Emily. Emily yells at him to run and Kate then shoots Daniel twice in the abdomen. Jack gets there just in time to shoot Kate dead before she kills Emily.

Daniel lays in Emily’s lap dying as we hear the rest of Daniel’s voiceover – the letter to his dad.

“There is no such thing as destiny. Legacies must be earned by the choices we make. I now know that we write our own endings and we can either choose to hide as villians or live as heroes.”

Emily tells him that it wasn’t all a lie – her love for him – and he tells her, “I know,” as his last words.

What did you think of ‘Revenge’s’ mid-season 4 finale?

Although we had a really good feeling – with the flashbacks and voiceovers – that Daniel would be the one to die, we’re still upset! We were hoping it’d be Margaux (no hate mail, please).

We were enjoying Daniel and Emily’s recent interactions with eachother. He was becoming a more honest person anmd trying to get his life on track.

Hmm, just as we re read those last few sentences we realize that that’s the reason he had to go. No honest person lasts on Revenge.

Except Nolan Ross.
