Following Lionsgate’s acquisition of Twilight Saga studio Summit, the CEO was quick to say that he’d like to see additional Twilight films beyond Breaking Dawn – Part 2.

Pattinson addressed this news at a recent publicity event to explain why he can’t play Edward again.

The Press Association reports:

The 25-year-old joked that he is already past his prime to portray the heartthrob vampire in any other big-screen adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s novels, at the world premiere of his new film Bel Ami in Berlin, reported the New York Daily News.

“I’d be curious what she would write, but I just think I’d probably be too old by the time (they did it),” he said.

“I’m already too old. But yeah, it’d be kind of interesting,” he added.

Do you think Pattinson would be too old to play Edward if they shot a new Twilight film, say, in 2014 or 2015?

We doubt there will be future films, as Lionsgate has stated that they’d wait for Meyer to write another Twilight book first.
