The Resident Evil 2 Remake launch trailer has everything you need to get your fix of the latest start-of-apocalypse story.

If you enjoyed Sandra Bullock’s performance in Netflix’s Bird Box, then the Resident Evil 2 Remake launch trailer will be a treat. As morbid as it sounds, there is nothing quite like seeing the start of an apocalypse. It’s a dark curiosity that many of us share, because if we don’t understand how society could potentially unravel, how would we know what events to avoid?

Sure, it’s unlikely that a zombie virus will be released into the wild by a scientific organization calling themselves Umbrella, but hey, you can never be too prepared, eh?

In the launch trailer, Leon has quite the task ahead of himself as he struggles to protect citizen Claire and the highly sought after virus sample. The zombies are looking bigger and badder than ever before, breathing new life back into an over decade-old video game.

The voice acting may be a bit spotty in the Resident Evil 2 Remake, at least for the English-speaking localization. Much like certain DLC stories in Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, it seems as though the development team has once again focused on gameplay and atmosphere a bit more than matching up lip syncing to voice acting.

At that, time will tell if the Resident Evil 2 Remake launch trailer just happens to be showing some poor voice acting moments. The game releases this Friday, and is already receiving some positive buzz for its fun gameplay, moving story, and interesting enemy designs. We will have a review this coming weekend with our thoughts on the Resident Evil 2 Remake, which releases for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC simultaneously on January 25.

In some instances, you can pre-load the full content of the game onto your console, giving you instant access to the title once the gates have been unleashed. The Resident Evil 2 Remake demo is also live. Happy zombie hunting!
