Fans of FX’s Reservation Dogs can rest easy knowing that season 2 is officially on the way.
According to Deadline, FX has officially renewed Reservation Dogs for a season 2.
Created by Sterlin Harjo and Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, the critically acclaimed comedy series is set in rural Oklahoma and centers on a group of four Native American teens living on a reservation in Okmulgee. The series follows along as they spend their days both committing crimes and also fighting crime in an effort to get to California.
Series stars include actors D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai (Murdoch Mysteries), Devery Jacobs (American Gods), Paulina Alexis (Beans), as well as newcomer Lane Factor.

News of the renewal comes less than a month following the hit series’ season premiere just last month on August 9.
In a statement announcing the network’s decision to pick up the series for a second season, Nick Grad (president of original programming at FX) said: “We’re happy to put in an early order for another season.”
“Sterlin Harjo delivered on his creative vision, partnering with Taika Waititi and the rest of the creative team, the brilliant cast and crew to create one of TV’s best new comedies and a groundbreaking showcase of representation and raw talent,” added Grad.
Reservation Dogs season 2 is slated to premiere sometime next year.
