One season of Agent Carter is just not enough. Here’s our rhyming request for season 2!

Our dear Agent Carter is now almost done
There’s just one more episode in season one
So here we present, with impeccable reason
Why Peggy deserves – at the least! – one more season.

This trip to the past has drawn our applause
The grime and the glamour; the gleam and the flaws
The 40’s, for all of its elegant sheen
Ain’t terrible different from 2015.

War vets, and strangers, and deadly inventions
Inflation, the pressure of social conventions
And issues that women continue to face
In public, at home, and of course, the workplace.

It’s captured so well in the lens of this show –
How far we have come, and how far still to go.
But because this is Marvel, it’s also a blast
To watch all the comic-book quirks to the past.

The gadgets are awesome, the costumes sublime
(Before there was wifi, how did they solve crime?)
It offers a counterpoint classic and new
To the modern aesthetic of our MCU.

And Peggy herself, with wisdom and grace
Punching bad guys and patriarchy in the face!
Her wit and her wisdom, her steel and her style
Alone would make watching completely worthwhile.

But the cast is amazing and so is the crew
(We stalk you on Twitter, we know that it’s true)
The world you have built from impeccable pages
Has made Agent Carter a show for the ages.

From Howard’s inventions to Jarvis’s quips
(And a truly remarkable number of ships!)
From Angie, so clever and quirky and kind
To Dottie, who’s utterly out of her mind.

And though many gentlemen scrambled our patience
We can’t help but root for the S.S.R. agents
Thompson and Sousa – we still need to check
Which one to make out with, and which one to deck.

So Marvel, we’re gonna be honest and tough:
One season of Peggy is just not enough!
There’s so many stories that Carter can tell
And everyone needs more of HAYLEY ATWELL.

Your next leading lady is Jessica Jones
Before her and after, more white male clones
So don’t make us wait until 2018
For a woman to stand at the heart of the screen!

We know that the ratings have not been that great
But surely Walt Disney can pay for just eight?
And why even bother with Neilson’s old score?
Who watches TV on TV anymore?

Peggy would never give up – why should you?
Bring back Agent Carter for her season two!
This show is a meal, and this season’s the starter.
Come on, ABC: #RenewAgentCarter!
