Great news for all of you Regina fans!  The Russian-born singer has just announced a new album!

This week, Regina Spektor took to her Facebook page to update her fans on the current status of her new album.  The album will be called What We Saw From the Cheap Seats, and will be released in May of 2012.  Luckily, Spektor will once again be teaming up with Mike Elizondo, an extremely talented producer who also helped the singer produce her last musical endeavor, 2009’s Far.  The album was recorded this past summer in Los Angeles.  Spektor says;

“It’s been finished for a little while but i had no idea when it would be out in the world until now,”

Aside from the new album, Regina kept herself busy this year by creating the music for a new Broadway show.  The show, entitled Beauty, is a musical inspired by the story of Sleeping Beauty.  While it was expected to show on Broadway before the end of this year, there is still no premiere date set.  Either way, we’re sure with Regina behind the music of the show, it is sure to be a smash!
