With the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who fast approaching, celebrate it with fellow fans and strangers across the globe by participating in Reddit’s Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Exchange!
If you’re unfamiliar with redditgifts, it’s an exchange website that people can sign up for to do random gift exchanges with people world wide. They’ve had the classic Secret Santa exchange, a book exchange, and multiple other original themes like Ameristalia, Nostalgia (anything from your favorite decade), and much more. Now redditgifts is doing a Doctor Who exchange, and we had to tell our readers!
How does it work?
To participate you just register an account, put in your information, and sign up for the exchange. It’s all completely free! Once the signups are over, you’re randomly assigned someone from around the world (or if you prefer you can stick to your home country) and it tells you your match’s favorite Doctor, Companion and enemy and then it’s up to you to decide what to give them! In return you’ll be assigned to someone else, and they will do the same for you.
For those of you worried you’ll get something you dislike, don’t worry! There’s a custom field when you sign up where you can tell your gifter what your likes and dislikes are, including what you prefer to receive and what you’d rather not get.
Is it fun?
This author has participated in both a previous Doctor Who exchange as well as their Secret Santa exchanges, and it’s been great giving someone a gift they were looking forward to and getting gifts that were more than satisfactory in return. What’s a better way to help spread the love of Doctor Who than giving gifts and coming home one day to randomly find a gift from your gifter in return?!
