To celebrate renting its 3 billionth disc in the month of July, this Thursday Redbox wants to let you rent a movie or video game for free with a coupon.

The popular quick-rental service located at various stores across the United States will allow you to rent a movie or video game for free (for one day) with a code obtained at their official Facebook page.

Click here to get your free Redbox coupon for August 1, 2013. Note: The coupon will only be viewable on Thursday, August 1.

Interesting fact: The 3 billionth Redbox rental, The Call, by Sony Pictures, was rented at a Walgreens in Littleton, Colorado. The next Redbox rental was a PlayStation 3 video game, The Last of Us, rented at a Walmart Supercenter in Kennesaw, Ga.

Said Redbox president Annie Saunders, “It’s hard to imagine 3 billion of anything, really. But when you equate that to the number of times Americans have watched Hollywood’s best movies or become engrossed in new video games, this milestone becomes even more meaningful. We’re thrilled to celebrate this milestone with our customers for all the times they’ve brought Redbox home with them.”

Redbox is beloved by us at Hypable for its convenience and cheap costs.
