Read what Red Band Society star Ciara Bravo has to say about her character Emma’s love triangle with Jordi and Leo.
Last night’s episode of Red Band Society brought the Leo/Emma/Jordi love triangle to a head, when Emma made the decision to follow her heart and get back together with Leo (Charlie Rowe), despite being scared by her strong feelings for him.
Meanwhile, Jordi (Nolan Sotillo) is left out in the cold, after deciding (seemingly on a whim) to duke it out with Leo for Emma’s affections.
Speaking to Celebuzz before the episode, Ciara Bravo says she believes that fans, “Are going to be pleased with the outcome,” of the triangle.
Considering that Jordi and Emma have hardly shared any screen time, we imagine she’s right.
She also reveals that she and Rowe find it a little difficult to get into character when filming their romantic scenes.
“Charlie and I are very good friends, so playing the whole romantic thing can be awkward in the best way possible,” she says. “We’re like, ‘How long is this hug supposed to last? Like honestly, do people hug that long?’ They’re like, ‘Yes Ciara, yeah Charlie, people who have a romantic interest in each other do hug that long.’ We’re like, ‘Alright, let’s go for it, this is gonna be a doozy.'”
Bravo also reveals that we’ll delve deeper into her character’s eating disorder as the episodes go on.
She says, “We get to see her kind of break down and how this disease, how anorexia is really affecting her emotionally, physically, and mentally. So, I’m very excited for everyone to see that.”
So are we! Emma has been kind of on the back burner, and so far we haven’t seen her physically suffer the consequences of starving herself. Now that the love triangle is (hopefully) resolved, the show can give her a more advanced storyline.
