This week on the New York Times Bestselling list we see some new titles that we’ve heard a lot about. The Night Circus, Wonderstruck, and Perfect all debut on the list.

Combined Print and E-Book Fiction

  1. THE HELP, by Kathryn Stockett
  2. NEW YORK TO DALLAS, by J. D. Robb
  3. THE MILL RIVER RECLUSE, by Darcie Chan
  4. KILL ME IF YOU CAN, by James Patterson and Marshall Karp
  5. THE NIGHT CIRCUS, by Erin Morgenstern

The Help still reigns supreme on the adult list.  New comers this week include New York to Dallas – the latest from JD Robb, Nora Robert’s alter ego.  The story follows Lt. Eve Dallas who is stalked by an escaped child molester.  The Night Circus is finally here and debuts at #5 on the list.  Of interest, on the adult combined hardback and paperback list The Night Circus is #3.

Children’s Chapter Book

  1. WONDERSTRUCK, by Brian Selznick
  2. PERFECT, by Ellen Hopkins
  3. MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, by Ransom Riggs
  4. THE POWER OF SIX, by Pittacus Lore
  5. DARTH PAPER STRIKES BACK: AN ORIGAMI YODA BOOK, by Tom Angleberger

This week the children’s chapter book list sees two new debuts. Brian Selznick’s Wonderstruck lands at #1 and Perfect by Ellen Hopkins takes the #2 spot. Wonderstruck is a unique story told on two timelines. One timeline is in words and the other is in pictures. Perfect follows the lives of four seniors in their quest for perfection.  The path each person takes is as different as their ideas of perfection.  The story is written in prose.
