This week’s New York Times Bestseller list sees little to no change in all categories.  There is one new book sitting atop the Adult list and one new book sitting atop the Children’s Series list, but that’s about it.

COMBINED PRINT & E-BOOK FICTION

  1. 11/22/63, by Stephen King
  2. THE LITIGATORS, by John Grisham
  3. THE NEXT ALWAYS, by Nora Roberts
  4. ZERO DAY, by David Baldacci
  5. THE BEST OF ME, by Nicholas Sparks

This week Stephen King joins the list at #1 with his time traveling novel about stopping the Kennedy assassination.  The plot is very intriguing and written like only King can.  The rest of the list is basically the same as last week’s.

Children’s Chapter Books

  1. THE SON OF NEPTUNE, by Rick Riordan
  2. EVERY THING ON IT, by Shel Silverstein
  3. CROSSED, by Ally Condie
  4. THE LEGO IDEAS BOOK, by Daniel Lipkowitz
  5. THE LOST HERO, by Rick Riordan

The only new book in the top 5 is The Lego Ideas Book which was in the top 10 last week.  Rick Riordan still dominates holding two of the top spots on this list as well as one on the paperback list and one on the series list.  It will be interesting to see what happens when The Kane Chronicles and The Heroes of Olympus have a third book and land on the series list.

Children’s Series

  1. INHERITANCE, by Christopher Paolini
  2. THE HUNGER GAMES, by Suzanne Collins
  3. HOUSE OF NIGHT, by P.C. Cast and Kristin Cast
  4. DIARY OF A WIMPY KID, written and illustrated by Jeff Kinney
  5. DORK DIARIES, by Rachel Renée Russell

Now on to the series list, I know many of you were upset last week because Inheritance wasn’t on the list.  It wasn’t on the list because it wasn’t eligible to be on the list.  A book has to be out one full week before it can make the list.  Other than Inheritance Cycle the list remains pretty much the same.

I personally can’t wait to see what happens to the list in the next month or so.  There are several highly anticipated books being released, Clockwork Prince being one of them, and with the holiday season anything can happen.  I personally love to give books as gifts so it will be interesting to see which books sell strong over the holiday season.  Be sure to check out Hypable’s gift giving guide to books coming out in the next few weeks.
