Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation star Rebecca Ferguson will reportedly join Emily Blunt in Dreamworks’ adaptation of The Girl on the Train.

While Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation was a great film, the best part of it was possibly newcomer Rebecca Ferguson. The actress proved she was talented and if she did even half the stunts her character performed, we’d be blown away by her physical performance as well.

Everyone was talking about the actress after the film’s opening weekend, and it looks like it may have landed her a role in the upcoming adaptation of The Girl on the Train. Deadline reports Ferguson will play the role of a married woman in the film, which follows Emily Blunt’s character, who is devastated by her recent divorce.

Blunt’s character fantasizes about a “perfect couple” who live in a house that her train passes daily. Having Emily Blunt and Rebecca Ferguson working together would be a dream come true, as the two actresses are both incredibly talented, and Blunt is incredibly underused in Hollywood.

The film will be directed by Tate Taylor, who joined the project back in May. The book, written by Paula Hawkins, sold the film rights to Dreamworks last year even before it was published. Erin Cressida Wilson is adapting the novel for the big screen.

Emily Blunt’s latest performance in Edge of Tomorrow was highly praised, and Rebecca Ferguson’s role in Rogue Nation was seen as the stand out part in the latest Mission Impossible film.

Both actresses recently worked with Tom Cruise, and we look forward to finding out who else will be cast in The Girl on the Train film adaptation.
