The official trailer for Ready Player One is finally here.
Step into the OASIS with a new official trailer for Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, based on the amazing novel by Ernest Cline.
The trailer starts off by introducing us to Wade Watts, who finds himself so disenfranchised with the way things are in the real world that he retreats into the virtual reality of the OASIS. Sound like some people you know? Well, the interesting thing about Ready Player One is that everybody retreats into the OASIS, and the real world is left in shambles.
Things get interesting in the OASIS when the world’s creator, James Halliday, passes away and leaves behind an Easter egg hunt for the inhabitants of his virtual world. The prize? An exorbitant amount of money and… complete control of the OASIS. Tired of feeling like he’s at the bottom of the totem pole, Wade Watts decides to dedicate all of his attention to the hunt.
The trailer gives us a look at Parzival, Wade Watts’ character in the OASIS, and at the virtual world itself, and it all looks amazing! Also, the music in the trailer and the overall feel of the OASIS makes it seem like Spielberg will be playing up the more fun aspects of the story, which is exciting.
