Star Trek Beyond’s Simon Pegg is set to join Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One, alongside actors Tye Sheridan and Olivia Cooke.

Warner Bros. is adapting Ready Player One with Steven Spielberg at the helm, and a new report from THR suggests actor/writer Simon Pegg has been cast as Orgen Morrow.

Actor Tye Sheridan will star as Wade Watts in the film which is set in the year 2044. In the film’s story, humans begin to enjoy being in a virtual utopia known as the OASIS instead of the real world, and Simon Pegg’s character is who helped create the OASIS in Ernest Cline’s 2011 novel.

The book is filled with pop culture references, including many popular video games, which became one of the reasons the book has been such a hit with readers worldwide. It’ll be interesting to see what the film looks like with Spielberg directing, as he’s been involved in quite a few sci-fi films.

Simon Pegg was most recently seen in Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation, which was well-received, and Pegg has also become a very vital part of the Star Trek franchise.

After J.J. Abrams left Star Trek Beyond, Pegg jumped in to help pen the script for the film, and he’ll reprise his role as Scotty when it hits theaters on July 22, 2016.

Warner Bros. decided to push back the release of Ready Player One to avoid clashing with Star Wars: Episode VIII, which sets the film’s release for March 30, 2018.
