Ready Player One is almost in theaters, and they released one more trailer before we all get to see the book come to life on the big screen.

The film adaptation of Ernest Cline’s hit novel Ready Player One is headed to theaters on March 29. While there were many readers out there who enjoyed the pop culture-filled, Willy Wonka-esque ride that the novel took you on, many fans have worried about how this story would translate to the big screen.

While we won’t know for sure until the movie actually hits theaters, the newest (and likely final) trailer for the film has got us really excited about what’s in store come March 29. Sure, the pop culture references in the film are fun, but what made Ready Player One so engaging to read (and what will make the movie work as well) is the universe in which the story is set. The hunt for Halliday’s Egg and exploring the OASIS alongside Wade and his friends are the things that truly makes the story special.

Sure, the book wasn’t perfect, but there is something almost magical about the OASIS that makes it so easy to fall headfirst into the world of Ready Player One. In this final trailer, they do a great job highlighting the endless possibilities and the allure of the OASIS.

From the looks of the trailer, the movie will be taking a bit of a departure from the book by having Parzival, Art3mis, Aech, Diato, and Shoto meet in the real world much earlier than they do in the book. However, that departure might really help the story translate to film a bit more effectively, giving our heroes a real-life connection earlier in the film as they embark on their virtual reality exploits. After all, the heart of the story isn’t found in the OASIS, it’s found in the actual connections the characters make with one another.

We can’t wait to see what Steven Spielberg and Ernest Cline have managed to cook up with this movie. This film is a big undertaking, but these trailers have given us a lot of hope.
