Did you know that E.L. James, the author of Fifty Shades of Grey, has a husband who is also a writer? And today Random House Children’s Publishing picked up his thriller novel.

Niall Leonard’s book is called Crusher and is “a “gritty” London-set thriller about a 17-year-old school dropout who finds his stepfather murdered and becomes prime suspect for the crime.”

Leonard spoke about the acquisition, in a statement saying, “Crusher is a story I have wanted to write for years and it finally all came together last November when my wife encouraged me to take part in the Nanowrimo novel-writing event. I am thrilled and delighted that RHCP have picked up Crusher for publication, and it’s a fantastic honour to join the distinguished names on their writers’ list.”

Will Leonard’s book have sales that are driven in part by the success of his wife’s Fifty Shades trilogy? We imagine some diehard fans will read it in hopes of seeing some risqué scenes.
