Fox has announced that Raising Hope is coming to a close. The show will be sent off with a special one-hour finale next month.

Part one of the Raising Hope season finale titled “How I Met Your Mullet” will air April 4 at 9 p.m. eastern/pacific on Fox. The synopsis says that “guest star Lesley Nicol (Downton Abbey) plays Jimmy (Lucas Neff) and Sabrina’s (Shannon Woodward) new maid.”

The second part of the finale titled “The Father Daughter Dance” will see “Virginia’s (Martha Plimpton) dad (guest star Jeffrey Tambor, Arrested Development) return to Natesville with a big surprise for her and Burt (Garret Dillahunt), including a musical performance by Kenny Loggins (guest-starring as himself).”

In a statement, executive producer Mike Mariano expressed his feelings about Raising Hope coming to a close. He says that they planned the season 4 finale around the chance that it could end here, meaning that the finale should have a nice send off for the characters.

“On behalf of myself, Greg Garcia and RAISING HOPE’s amazing cast and crew, I would like to thank our audience for tuning in and supporting us over the last four seasons,” he said. “We planned our Season Four finale with this possibility in mind, and hope our loyal fans enjoy the way we’ve chosen to say goodbye to the Chances and to Natesville. Thanks again, and we’ll see you in syndication.”

Added Fox heads Kevin Reilly and Joe Earley, “Getting to know and love the Chance family on RAISING HOPE has been a sweet, hilarious ride. Thanks to the incredibly talented cast – along with Greg, Mike and the entire crew – for making us laugh for four fantastic seasons.”

Raising Hope premiered in fall 2010 and stars Martha Plimpton, Cloris Leachman, Garret Dillahunt, Lucas Neff, Shannon Woodward and Gregg Binkley.
