Netflix has given the green light to the Norwegian-language series Ragnarok, granting the coming-of-age fantasy series a second season.

The streaming service announced on Twitter that the Nordic series Ragnarok will be getting a second season, tweeting out a new poster for the upcoming installment. The Twitter account likewise shared character posters featuring David Stakston as Magne, Jonas Strand Gravli as Laurits, Herman Tømmeraas as Fjor and Theresa Frostad Eggesbø as Saxa.

Check out the tweet and the posters below!

Ragnarok is described as a coming-of-age drama building on and contributing to a new and surprising angle on Norse mythology. The series is set in the small, fictitious town of Edda, situated in the grand, breathtaking Norwegian landscape. The story revolves around the inhabitants of Edda, who are perhaps not all who they claim to be. With them, audiences experience a drastically changing world: melting poles, warm winters, violent downpours. The series hinted that the world was headed for yet another Ragnarok — unless someone intervenes in time.

The first season of Ragnarok followed Magne, a teenage boy who learns he is the embodiment of Thor. The character faces off with the Jutuls, a family of frost giants and giantesses posing as humans. The season also teased that Laurits might in fact be the incarnation of Loki — a storyline that would no doubt be quite interesting for season 2, if he should get his powers.

The show only recently dropped on January 31, and though Netflix hasn’t released any viewership metrics on it specifically, it did report that the show was among the top five most watched for Netflix UK.

Ragnarok is written by Adam Price and produced by the Danish company SAM Productions. It is the second full Norwegian Netflix Original. No word yet on when the new season will premiere.
