We know what Nimah’s up to at the Farm in Quantico season 2, but where has she been in the future timeline? We have three theories about her role.

Quantico is one of those shows where you may have to wait a few episodes to see your favorite character, unless of course your fav is Alex Parrish. Going a week or two without checking in on someone only adds to the whole mystery of the show, and keeps us questioning everybody so we generally don’t mind.

While we’ve gotten used to missing some familiar faces once in a while, there’s one missing character in Quantico season 2 who really has us wondering. We’ve seen Nimah Amin in scenes with Alex, Ryan and Shelby at the Farm, but during the hostage situation, she’s nowhere to be found.

The fact that Nimah’s whereabouts in the future timeline are so mysterious is extra strange given the fact that her sister is currently being held hostage and forced to help a group of terrorists! You’d think Nimah would’ve called to check in on the situation once or twice, by now.

So the question is, where is she? We have a few theories that might help to determine her role in the hostage situation.

1. She’s simply working on another case

As far as we know, Nimah is a working FBI agent, so it’s highly possible that she’s simply preoccupied with her own work. At the beginning of Quantico season 2, Shelby mentioned that Nimah brought down a cartel, so we know she’s been out working in the field.

The nature of Nimah and Raina’s work was always extremely undercover, so it’s likely that Nimah is still doing that kind of work. If that’s the case, she might not be able to risk checking in on her sister, or she may not even be aware of what’s happening, at all.

2. She’s trading places with Raina

…and she might even be “one of them!” Trading places is kind of what these girls do. It’s possible that Raina was present at the G20 summit as part of a mission that she and Nimah were working together. They may have even continued to work the mission after the hostages were taken.

This is pretty unlikely, since it would be tough to keep slipping in and out past the terrorists. Also, if they were doing this, you’d think they’d be bringing some key info back to the FBI! The only way this scenario would make sense is if Raina and Nimah are working with the AIC.

This would explain why Nimah has never called to check in on her sister and why Raina has never mentioned Nimah during her time as a hostage. It might even mean that Ryan is involved too, since he’s working so closely with Raina during the hostage situation. If Miranda is (allegedly) working with the AIC, everybody is a suspect!

3. She’s Ryan’s new love interest

This wouldn’t necessarily explain why Nimah hasn’t been involved yet in the future timeline, but it could be true! In the first episode of Quantico season 2, Alex asks Ryan, “how is she,” as she returned his engagement ring to him. This doesn’t have to mean that Ryan was a new woman in the picture, but it more than likely does.

Nimah and Ryan got close in Quantico season 1, and are continuing to work together on the AIC case in season 2. They obviously understand each other well, and trust each other, so it’s not out of the question that a romance could blossom between them.

What do you think Nimah’s role is in the ‘Quantico’ season 2 hostage situation?
