Javier Muñoz will join the already fantastic cast of new characters in Quantico season 2.

Muñoz is currently best known for his starring role in the hit Broadway musical/cultural phenomenon, Hamilton. His theatrical chops are obviously first class, so it will be exciting to see what he brings to his new television role.

The actor recently shared a tweet to announce that he had finished filming his guest role on Quantico. His tweet was a reply to one previously shared by David Lim. Lim plays the role of Sebastian, who is quickly becoming a fan favorite character in season 2.

The Quantico showrunner, Josh Safran, shed some more light on Muñoz’s role. “He plays Gabriel Carrera, vice consul at a consulate in [Washington] D.C,” he told TVLine.

“His husband, Robbie, played by Nick Westrate also works at the consulate. They come into contact with some of our recruits, and soon wish they hadn’t,” he added. It’s likely that Sebastian will be one of those recruits, but we don’t yet know if Alex will be among the recruits at the consulate.

Hopefully, Muñoz’s character will be able to provide some insight into any of the tangled webs that season 2 is weaving. Actually, we’d settle for things just not getting any more complicated.

If your jealousy of the Quantico cast is spiking to an all time high, don’t worry, they didn’t get any special treatment from the new Alexander Hamilton. Safran instructed everyone at the production meeting to not ask for tickets!

Now that Quantico is filming in New York, as opposed to Montreal where they filmed the entire first season, hopefully they’ll be able to get other talented Broadway actors to bring their skills to the show!
