Pearl Thusi has been added as a series regular for Quantico season 2 and three season 1 favorites will be joining her.
Thusi joins the cast alongside the previously announced Russell Tovey and Blair Underwood. Thusi has had many roles in South Africa, including a lead role on Tsidingo, the South African soap opera. Aside from a few minor roles, she is still relatively unknown in America.
Deadline reports that she will portray a woman named Dayana Mampasi. She is described as a “driven, disciplined, type-A lawyer,” who “worked at an NGO for two years before joining her parents’ Boston firm.” From this description, it may seem like Dayana has everything going for her, but it is also said that she “struggles to fit in.”
We don’t know yet how Alex will meet Dayana. It’s possible that she could have something to do with a case at the CIA, or she could have something to do with the Claire Haas storyline that has been kept under wraps since the Quantico season 1 finale!

If you’re worried that all of these new characters will interfere with the old characters coming back, you no longer need to worry. Filming for Quantico season 2 is officially underway, and Priyanka Chopra, who plays Alex Parrish, shared the following photo from the first episode’s table read.

The photo shows Chopra, Thusi, Tovey and Underwood, but also features the familiar faces of Johanna Braddy (Shelby), Jake McLaughlin (Ryan) and Yasmine Al Massri (Nimah and Raina)! Up until now the return of these characters has been a mystery, so it’s great to know that we’ll be able to see some of our favorites in the very first episode of Quantico season 2.
If your favorite character isn’t in the picture, don’t panic yet. Fans of Quantico will remember that it wasn’t uncommon for a character to be mysteriously absent for a few episodes, so there’s still a good chance that we’ll see Miranda, Caleb, Will, Iris, Brandon, and all of our other beloved NATs in future episodes.
