Alex and Ryan make a big move to get in Owen’s good graces at The Farm and we’re still not sure if it paid off in the end. Check out our thoughts on Quantico season 2, episode 5, “KMForget.”

In Quantico season 2, episode 5, Alex and Ryan proved that they are truly one hell of a team when they coordinated their efforts this week to put down a major threat to their mission at The Farm. That threat may or may not have come back to bite them again, but we’ll deal with that later.

There’s a lot to keep track of nowadays, what with all the flipping between storylines and secret meetings in abandoned houses and the like. Here are the bits we think will definitely be good to keep in mind as things continue to get more and more complicated in Quantico season 2.

The Farm

Owen Hall takes an interest in…

Alex. For some reason, he finds her a more worthy student to the ways of the CIA than Ryan, or at least that’s what he’s telling her. He seems to have taken her under his wing of sorts, especially after the slick moves that she pulled off during her latest assignment.

Harry Doyle is secretly working for…

MI6. While this is at least a little bit surprising, parts of me think this should have been expected. This kid is waaaay too good to still be a student of the art of deception. He has managed to slide in and out of trouble without pause. Apparently he’s the start of a new agent exchange program, and there’s an American spy training in England with MI6. Godspeed sir or ma’am.

Shelby is hooking up with…

Leon Velez. What may have started out as coincidence is now officially on the books. Shelby has now seen/run into Leon in at least 3 different places and at four or more different times. She is going to have to be a lot sneakier if she wants to keep this private while also functioning as Alex’s handler. Somehow, I have a feeling this could come back to bite her in the ass. We certainly hope not, though.

Will Olsen is up to something with…

None other than Harry Doyle, whom he believes is called Julian. It’s unclear as to whether Will is at all onto Julian’s true identity. If he is, he’s playing it superbly in front of his beau. When Nimah calls him later on, he hints that there’s definitely something off about his newest loverboy. Since we witnessed Harry blocking Shelby in Will’s contacts list, we know that there’s at least some extracurricular activity going on in that situation.

Other important facts to know

The hostage situation

Miranda has Shelby…

Find someone to replace Eric Boyer. Now that Eric Boyer has failed to do whatever Miranda had him brought in to do for the AIC, she is desperate to find someone to help her out. She instructs Shelby to bring in none other than Will Olsen to try and hack whatever is delaying these terrorists.

Shelby sneaks behind Miranda’s back to…

Use Miranda’s selected accomplice for her own interests first. Instead of sneaking Will off to Miranda’s home to dig into some things for her, Shelby asks him to look into the message she recieved from Eric Boyer before he was killed.

Will is definitely siding with…

Miranda and the AIC. Unless he’s setting up an elaborate double agent situation, Will is going to be zero help to Shelby, Alex, or any of the hostages still inside the perimeter. Will does Miranda one better though, and convinces Shelby that Miranda is innocent of Boyer’s claims. He then calls Miranda to inform her of his deception and to formally join forces with her.

Alex has a run in with…

One of the masked men and women, but rather than be shot in point blank range, she is rescued by one of them who sounds suspiciously like one of the twins. Could this be where Nimah has been hiding all along? She and Raina proved they could infiltrate a terror cell last season, so maybe Nimah has been positioning herself to bring these terrorists down all along. Either way, she definitely saved Alex’s butt, and may have bought her some time to get around undetected for a while thanks to a bracelet, a couple of bodies, and a pretty gnarly explosion. We’re going to be very disappointed if it turns out to be anyone but Nimah at this point.

The episode ends with…

Lydia Hall stumbling into into a stairwell freshly escaped from her captors. What are the chances that she is working for the good guys? It doesn’t seem like those odds would be very good. Our money is on her cooperating with whomever is heading up the AIC. Maybe even daddy himself.
