Psych-o’s, it’s been a long wait but season 7 finally premieres tonight on USA Network.

Tonight’s episode, titled “Santabarbaratown 2,” kicks off the sixteen-episode season, so get your pineapples prepared to your liking and new Gus nicknames ready to go, because we’re in for a fun ride (hopefully in the Blueberry?). It was also announced a few weeks ago that even though this season has yet to air, season 8 is already confirmed, so you don’t have to worry about the gang’s stories coming to a close anytime soon.

As you’ll recall, season 6 left us on a cliffhanger and Henry’s (Corben Bernson) life was in the balance after being shot. The Psych Facebook page was recently updated with this video of Shawn (James Roday) talking to his father, who appears to be in a coma. However, because this show is just as much about humor as it is drama (if not more so), Woody the Coroner (played by the talented Kurt Fuller) mistakenly bursts in with his cadaver tools ready to cut open Henry, only to discover he was in the wrong room, and he slowly backs out.

The show typically has huge, dramatic season finales: the introduction of Mr. Yang in season 3 and Mr. Yin in season 4’s finale. There was also the Hitchcock-themed finale that at one point had Juliet hanging off the side of a building. But, everything generally works out for the best and Shawn and Gus (Dulé Hill) are ready to start their next seasons as the goofy faux-psych agency they are. This time, however, Shawn is dealing with his heaviest storyline to date.

Psych season 7 will be its most exciting batch of episodes, with the confirmed two-hour musical episode and its 100th episode falling within the timeframe.

Psych returns tonight at 9 p.m. on the USA Network
