The PS1 Classic will cost $100 and will be out just before Christmas.

Following the trend of Nintendo’s NES and SNES Classic consoles, Sony created a PS1 Classic console that will include games like the massively popular Final Fantasy VII.

Four more games were announced at Japan’s TGS conference, including Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms.

The PS1 Classic will have two Replica PS1 wired controllers bundled with it. The console itself features HDMI output, a USB power port, a reset button to suspend games, a power button, and an open disc tray button to change the virtual disc, all like the original PS1 had.

We can only hope that the PS1 Classic will have much better stock than either the NES Classic or SNES Classic. Both Nintendo Classic consoles were incredibly hard to find, and it wasn’t up until recently that the NES Classic’s production picked up to meet the overwhelming demand for it.

The other 15 spots on the PS1 Classic are bound to include some of our other favorites, such as Crash Team Racing, Spyro the Dragon, and Tomb Raider.

Another big story to come out of this year’s TGS conference was that of the Kingdom Hearts 3 box art and new story trailer.

Speaking of Kingdom Hearts, wouldn’t it be neat to see a PS2 Classic with all of the PlayStation 2 Kingdom Hearts games on it? If the PS1 Classic sells as well as we anticipate, then the PS2 Classic could be right around the corner.

Final Fantasy VII‘s remake is currently being developed, and will release in episodic chunks. Cloud and friends are already seeing a great representation in the Super Smash Bros. series, meaning that the FFVII remake will get even more publicity when players are able to experience the original on the PS1 Classic this December 3, 2018.
