Get ready for more Prodigal Son! After just two episodes, Fox announced earlier today that new show will receive a full 22-season order.

In an age when many shows tap out at 16 season orders — at best — Fox is bucking the trend by awarding its newest hit Prodigal Son with a full season order.

Fox’s crime procedural debuted to favorable critical reviews and high audience interest, with the premiere netting 8.5 million total viewers across all platforms. The show then grew 50% after three days delayed viewing to top the debut series ratings chart with a 1.5 among adults 18-49.

Michael Thorn, president of entertainment at Fox Entertainment, praised the show, saying that “Prodigal Son delivers a fantastic crime procedural with a complicated and compelling father-son relationship at its core, thanks to the stellar performances from Tom Payne and Michael Sheen.

He went on to say that “the series has razor-sharp writing, cinematic visuals and is an inventive twist on the genre. We want to thank our executive producers, Greg, Sarah, Chris and Sam, Peter Roth and our partners at Warner Bros., and the entire cast and crew. We can’t wait to see how this twisted journey continues to unfold.”

That high praise came with an order for 9 extra episodes for the freshman show, bringing Prodigal Son’s total season 1 order to a full 22.

Prodigal Son stars The Walking Dead‘s Tom Payne as Malcolm Bright, a profiler for the NYPD. He just also happens to be the son of infamous serial killer Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen, known most recently for his work on Good Omens).

As Malcolm helps the NYPD investigate bizarre and gruesome murders, he must also deal with the psychological impact of reuniting with his father.

Joining Tom Payne and Michael Sheen are Scandal’s Bellamy Young, Longmire’s Lou Diamond Phillips, and The Orville’s Halston Sage.

Prodigal Son’s third episode airs tonight at 9/8c on Fox.
