Princess Switch, Netflix’s Christmas romance with a Prince and the Pauper twist, is getting a sequel (and a THIRD Vanessa Hudgens).

Netflix has really been stepping up their holiday romance game with some feel-good (and sometimes wonderfully cheesy) flicks, and they’ve managed to find quite a bit of success. This year, the third Christmas Prince movie will hit the streamer, and in 2020 we can expect to see the just-announced sequel of Vanessa Hudgens’ The Princess Switch.

For those who haven’t yet seen The Princess Switch, the basic plot surrounds Vanessa Hudgens as Stacy, a Chicago-based baker who finds her way to the fictional country of Belgravia for a baking competition where she meets Duchess Margaret (also played by Hudgens)–a woman who is identical to her. The two women swap lives and end up changing their lives forever.

Sure, it is an outlandish concept of two identical strangers (who are distantly related) meeting, swapping lives, and falling in love with the men in the other woman’s life, but the movie is so adorable that it doesn’t matter. But this sequel y’all? It’s about to get crazy.

As The Hollywood Reporter explains, the sequel will be called The Princess Switch: Switched Again, and will introduce a third Vanessa Hudgens. So basically, if Orphan Black was too intense for you but you love the twin/clone thing, The Princess Switch universe might be for you.

So, what can we expect in this new adventure? The Princess Switch: Switched Again brings us back to the life of Duchess Margaret when she is in the middle of a rough patch with Kevin and unexpectedly inherits the throne to her home country of Montanaro. It’s up to Stacy to help save the day before Fiona, a third look-alike and “party girl,” comes to ruin everything.

The first Princess Switch movie was a bit unbelievable but still sweet and fun. Can Switched Again recapture that same spark, even though they’re upping the unbelievability again?

Vanessa Hudgens certainly did a great job portraying Margaret and Stacy, so we are sure she’s got the chops to pull this off. Whether or not The Princess Switch: Switched Again recaptures the magic of the first, one thing is for sure: we will absolutely be streaming this one when it hits Netflix. If nothing else, Switched Again is going to be a fun ride.

There isn’t a specific release date for the film, but production is set to start next month in the UK and the release is planned for 2020. So be sure to check out the original to get ready for The Princess Switch: Switched Again!
