The 100 season 5 has truly begun, with 5×04 “Pandora’s Box” really digging into the main conflict and providing explosive confrontations.

Bellamy and Clarke are back together at last. But what about everyone else?

In The 100 5×03 “Sleeping Giants,” SpaceKru sans Murphy and Raven made it to the ground, and Bellamy stepped out of the shadows to save Clarke with his secret weapon, a mug.

…It was a lot more epic than I just made it sound.

Next Tuesday at 9/8c on The CW, “Pandora’s Box” will pick up almost (but not exactly) where “Sleeping Giants” left off.

As the episode description reveals, “Our heroes are forced to rely on the help of Shallow Valley’s dangerous new inhabitants in order to save some of their own, with surprising results.”

The 100 5×04 “Pandora’s Box” is directed by Dean White and written by Charmaine DeGraté (“Fallen,” “We Will Rise”), who clearly had a lot of fun writing the character named in her honor.

This episode will give us some fascinating glimpses into the inner lives of Charmaine Diyoza, Paxton McCreary and Zeke Shaw, and builds on the tension-filled three-way dynamic that was set up in “Sleeping Giants.”

If you pay attention, “Pandora’s Box” might also give you a hint (or two) as to what could be Diyoza’s ultimate endgame. In this episode, it feels like we are finally getting to the meat of the Eligius story, and the mythology behind it, so prepare your conspiracy theory memes.

In every storyline of The 100 5×04 “Pandora’s Box,” someone’s got their finger on one kind of trigger or another, trying to call their opponent’s bluff, a myriad of silent and not so silent battles of wills weaving in and out of each other and complicating the relationships of everyone involved.

It is another explosive hour of television that expertly balances heart-pounding action and big, emotional moments that will pull your heart in a dozen different directions.

As the promo indicates, things in the bunker are tense. In “Red Queen,” we left Kane in the fighting pit, looking up at a stone-faced Octavia Blodreina.

But why is he there? What did he do? What will he do? Where is Abby? What the hell happened during those six years, to land them all in this mess?! This episode answers at least some of those questions.

If you thought last week’s episode was an emotional roller coaster, you aren’t ready for “Pandora’s Box” to be opened…
