Our first look at the second half of season 5 of Pretty Little Liars has been released and it doesn’t look like the girls are backing down after the latest death.

With the Christmas special only one day away, our gift came early in the form of a 30-second Pretty Little Liars trailer released this afternoon on BuzzFeed. Watch below:

In the video we can see that the episode will take place during Mona’s funeral and the Liars are prepared to make Ali pay for her death. That is, assuming she is the one who killed her. Spencer’s future is at stake and might be facing jail time, while Aria finds herself in a dangerous face-off with “A.”

In the coming seasons we already know that Janel Parrish will still have a strong presence on the show in the form of flashbacks, but it also turns out she left some clues for the girls after her death. Executive producer Marlene King explained, “As it turns out, Mona had a plan B in the event of her demise. The Liars are gifted with a treasure map that may help them put the pieces together so they can solve the mystery of who killed Mona.”

And for those who are worried about running out of material now that the show has been renewed for two more seasons they need not worry. “There is a twist towards the end that is by far our most demented and mind-boggling,” Marlene also revealed. “I have goosebumps just thinking about it. We take a shocking turn and everyone was like, ‘Wow, I can’t believe this is the show now.'”

We can’t even imagine what new twist the show could take but we’re excited for the show to have a new life in the coming season.
