On the 100th episode of Pretty Little Liars season 5, episode 5, “Miss Me x 100,” everyone returns. Check out our full recap for the episode here.

The 100th episode of Pretty Little Liars starts off on the night before Alison’s big return to Rosewood High. Hannah is with Travis when she expresses her not-so-secret concerns about Ali coming back and ruling the school again.

Aria is also a tad stressed out this night on her relatively romantic walk with Ezra. She can’t get Shanna’s death off of her mind and after some comforting and face-caressing between the pair they run into Ali talking to someone in a window-tinted SUV.

Before too many questions can be asked and perfectly-timed local bus rounds the corner and none other then Jenna steps off of it. Five minutes in and we can already tell this episode is going to be full of surprises.

The Liars call a general meeting to discuss what Jenna’s return could mean. Aria wants Spencer to tell Toby about Shanna while Emily and Hannah are worried about Jenna’s motives. Ali steps in and says that things are going to be different and she’s going to fix everything that she messed up last time around.

The next day at school Ali’s return is going over quite awkwardly when Spencer is immediately called to the principle’s office. Mrs. Hastings drops the bomb that she is leaving her father and taking Spencer with her. If this is the case then why did Mrs. Hastings let Spencer go to school in the first place? Just so she could see the drama of Ali’s return?

Apparently Mr. H and Melissa lied about going out of town when Jessica was murdered so now Mrs. H is placing the blame on them. We’re putting our money on Mrs. Hastings being the real mastermind behind Jessica’s death and pulling a fast one on us.

After school, Emily arranges a surprise meeting between Paige and Alison in order for them to make amends. We’re not exactly sure how it all ended between them but after Paige leaves Ali asks Emily to hang out. This leads to Ali confessing that she did in fact have feelings for Emily and it wasn’t just to lead her on. Oh boy, the Emison ship (is that what we’re calling it?) is in full swing.

At The Brew while getting coffees for herself and Travis, Hannah bumped into Caleb(!). He didn’t seem much for small talk, especially after seeing his past lady-love carry a cup for someone else.

Hannah keeps trying to reach him while a Sexy Lucas’s party but her calls keep going to voicemail. She continues to get drunk as Sexy Lucas waits for his girlfriend from Canada to show up. Okay, she’s actually from Philadelphia but she might as well be his fake girlfriend from Canada at this point since she’s a no-show.

After breaking into Jenna’s house earlier in the day, Aria is surprised to see Jenna show up at her doorstep. The two exchange some words about being lost so Aria decides to extend the olive branch and asks Jenna inside.

Ali, on her way home from Emily’s, is being followed buy someone in a mysterious car who starts to flash his or her headlights at her. She runs to the church and sends a text to her friends. She is confronted by Mona in the church and the two go off on who is the real Queen Bee. Mona says she could prove they were in New York when Shanna died and this leads to more angry words and a slap fight.

The Liars, minus a drunk Hannah, all meet up again at Ali’s house to talk about Mona’s confrontation and who else may be part of her team. They more or less talk in circles before all dispersing again.

Aria decides to head to Ezra’s apartment and after a few tears and a shot at Ezra’s abs the two (finally) kiss! Over at Ali’s house, Emily is staying over in order to comfort her. It’s like we’re having déjà vu over here because now Emily and Ali begin to makeout! Wow, this is really a 100th episode.

It’s the next day at school and the girls are immediately surrounded by Mona and her patsies. She has video footage of Ali slapping her and cutting her cheek. Conveniently there is no proof of the first slap and now the Liars aren’t fully believing Ali’s story. Mona, she’s a trickster.

Hannah finally meets up with Caleb who is nursing a beer on a playground. Clearly a great idea. They don’t talk about much but Caleb does drop some information about Ravenswood saying that he doesn’t know if Miranda found her family or not.

At Emily’s house, Ali is trying to kiss her way to forgiveness when the news comes on saying that the girl in Ali’s grave has been identified. This news brings the whole gang back together, including Toby, Ezra and Caleb. All the couples take each others hands as they solemnly watch the newscast. The girl from the grave has been identified as Bethanny Young, a patient at Radley who ran away the same night Ali disappeared.

Just as this information is dropped and before the girls can get closure, a literal bomb explodes and shatters Emily’s windows. They all get out of the house to see Toby’s house on fire. The episode ends with Toby running towards the flames and the girls all get a text from “A.”
