On last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, Alison is put on trial and Jason makes a surprising decision.

Last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars begins with Spencer, Emily and Aria trying to solve the puzzle of Varjak’s phone number and Spencer’s house. Veronica comes downstairs to talk to them about Alison’s trial and says she doesn’t want them to show up because it’s better if none of them are involved. They then head to The Brew to meet up with Caleb, who can’t figure out how to locate Varjak’s phone either. Spencer decides to text the phone the message “Do you miss me? Love, Holly.”

Spencer then leaves so she can catch Jason and talk to him about Ali. She says they need to talk about Ali’s innocence, but Mr. DiLaurentis interrupts and ushers Jason away before they can discuss anything.

At school Aria runs into Andrew where they exchange small talk before the conversation turns to Mona. Andrew seems to be over mourning Mona and wants other people to get credit for the work they’ve been doing as well. Aria seems a bit creeped out by his stance on Mona’s death, and reasonably so.

It’s time for the trial and it looks like almost everyone is in attendance, with only one missing being Spencer. The prosecutor begins his opening statement and it already doesn’t look great for Ali. He goes on to accuse her of lying about being kidnapped and saying that Ali killed Mona because she knew the truth.

Back in prison, Ali and Hanna are discussing Varjak’s number. Ali admits to finding the number after a tribute ad for her mother was put in the paper. Ali assumes it wasn’t “A,” though, and that it was Mona playing a trick since the messages stopped after she was murdered.

Aria, Emily, Spencer and Caleb all regroup at The Brew when the Varjak number calls Aria’s phone. When they answer all that plays is a song in French. They call Hanna to see if she knows it and she says she recognizes it from when Mona would play it. Aria decides to go to Mona’s to see if they can find anything, but when she gets there there is no answer.

Later that night, Jason stops by Spencer’s house so he can tell her that trusting her was his biggest mistake. He also tells her that he’s testifying the next day, which forces Spencer to go the trial despite her mother’s wishes.

The next morning in court, Jason changes his story and tells the court that he no longer believes that Alison was the one in the video from Mona’s house. He is then asked about Ashley Marin and his relationship with his former assistant. It is made to look like Ashley put pressure on Jason to change his statement so that Hanna wouldn’t be convicted.

Spencer, Emily and Aria head over to Mona’s to try and get inside again, but when they get there they can hear that French song coming from Mona’s bedroom window. They break inside to find her entire room torn apart and even find a note from “A.” The girls aren’t buying it, and think that “A” never really found anything. They continue to search and find a note that says, “Chandelier’s rituals. Sister launched lair. A ruler’s list chained.” The scene then cuts to outside where Andrew is watching the house. And now it’s not just Aria who’s creeped out.

At The Brew, Aria runs into Andrew who apologizes about what he said about Mona earlier. This puts Aria at ease and she even says she’ll give him a call. Later on, while Emily is cleaning up, she decides to listen to the whisper machine and in it she can hear the French song being played.

The episode ends at a lab where a scientist is studying the ice pick that was used to break into Mona’s house. The only thing was learn is that the pick says “Boo Boo’s Ice Cream” across the handle.
