On last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, Mike finally reveals what he’s been up to.
Last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars opened up to the Liars snooping through Mike’s bedroom. They go through everything until Aria finds a beaded necklace at the bottom of his gym bag. Spencer recognizes it as a Morse code necklace, which they are able to translate to “I’m with you.” The girls believe he is using it to send messages to Alison.
The next morning, Spencer is out grabbing coffee with Jonny at Hollis when they spot Toby picking up papers for Jenna. He’s clearly distant and also isn’t pleased that Spencer is there with Jonny, who continues to be as obnoxious as ever. After coffee, Spencer and Jonny are walking around campus when they see a framed version of their “mural” outside an art gallery. They head inside and find Jonny’s art cut up and framed throughout the gallery.
Hanna is still stuck on winning the Miss Teen beauty pageant so she can get the $20,000 for college. She decides to go all out and hire a pageant coach. At their first practice, Hanna and her coach try to go over some interview questions, but Hanna can’t come up with a single answer. She at least has her a talent, though, and recruits Emily to do a dance routine with her.
It’s back to studying for Aria and Andrew, but they are interrupted by Mike stomping through the living room with two coffees. Now that Andrew is involved, Aria asks him to follow her brother to the gym and see if he’s meeting up with anyone. Andrew agrees and follows Mike into the woods behind Mona’s house where he sees him put some sort of box in a tree.
At The Brew, Emily is working alone when Talia’s husband, Eric, stops by. They finally get to meet and it’s pretty awkward until he tells her that he knows about her and Talia. He describes their relationship as “an experiment” and that he’s just hanging around until Talia is over it.
After work, Emily and Hanna head over to the school to work on their dance. Caleb stops by to bring them fuel and has less than encouraging words about her performance. He also breaks the news that Hanna’s step-sister, Kate, is also signed up for the pageant. This pushes Hanna even harder, and by the time her coach sees the dance she begins to spiral out of control. Her coach quits on her and Hanna runs out crying. Emily tries to chase after her but is stopped by Talia. Emily ends it with her because she doesn’t want to be with girls who are only gay because it’s “trendy.”
When she finally catches up with Hanna at her house, they find out that Kate never actually entered the pageant. “A” was the one who put her name on the list. Emily, being the best friend ever, volunteers to do the pageant for Hanna.
Over at the Hastings house, Jonny bursts into the kitchen and tells Spencer that one of the paintings has already been sold. This infuriates Spencer and they decide to go and do something about it. When it gets dark out they head over to the gallery where they break in and steal all of the paintings from the room. As Jonny is taking down the last one, the alarm goes off and they have to rush out of there. On their way home they stop at a gas station where Toby pulls up in his police car. He arrests Jonny and then has to deal with a manic Spencer. He tells her that Tanner is trying to use his relationship with Spencer against them and she just needs to walk away while she can.
Mrs. Hastings ends up going down to the jail and bailing Jonny out. She also made sure to kick him out of the barn as well. Before he goes, though, he makes sure to plant a kiss right on Spencer’s lips, leaving her speechless.
Aria goes over to Mona’s house after meeting up with Andrew. She journeys into the woods by herself and is able to find the tree that Andrew was talking about. She reaches in to find a vial of blood. Mike comes up behind her and tells her that it’s Mona’s blood in the vial. Aria smashes the vial on the ground and runs to her car to get away.
When Aria gets home, Mike is close behind her and he finally tells her what is going on with the vials of blood. Apparently before Mona’s death, Mike went to surprise her and found her putting her own blood into vials. She told him that “A” had a plan to fake Mona’s death in order to put Alison in jail. Mike also said that he and Mona were supposed to meet up a few times since her “death” but she’s never shown. Mike continues to claim that Alison can’t be “A” because Cyrus got her out of town on Thanksgiving day.
So, in the biggest shock of the season, Alison isn’t “A” after all. Now that the girls know more of the truth, what are they going to do to rectify the situation?
