On last night’s episode of Pretty Little Liars, “A Dark Ali,” Ali played all of her friends and lived to suffer the consequences. Check out our full recap for the episode here.

If you remember, last week’s episode of Pretty Little Liars ended at the police station with a strange man confessing to Ali’s kidnapping. This episode starts with all the Liars present at the station and discussing Cyrus Petrillo (the alleged kidnapper). Alison, shockingly, wants to continue to lie and identify Cyrus as the man who did it. The other girls are a bit more human and argue that they shouldn’t be sending an innocent man to jail.

Spencer and Hanna leave Emily to watch over Ali. Great idea you guys, leave the girl alone with the girl she is in love with. We’re sure Em won’t be swayed by Ali in the slightest.

Aria is at home taking care of poor Ella who is heartbreakingly cancelling her own wedding plans. Ella is clearly in an extremely vulnerable place right now and it doesn’t help that she is becoming insecure over her age. Aria steps in and takes over the wedding cancelling duties like a good maid-of-honor.

While Ella is home devastated over her broken life, Hanna is deciding to finally take charge of hers. She heads to Caleb’s where she starts cleaning up and announcing that she doesn’t want Ali to run how she feels anymore. It’s about time, Hanna. So, is she dying her hair back now?

Spencer headed home after the police station to hide Noel’s insurance, but when she comes home she finds that she’s already been robbed. The recording of Ali’s story is gone and this is the perfect time for Melissa to walk in. Spencer’s phone rings and the Ali recording plays. She hangs up instantly gets a text that says “Checkmate – A”.

Does this mean that Melissa isn’t “A” since she was standing in the room?

Aria heads over to Spencer’s place to go over the backyard footage. The footage shows a male in a baseball cap meeting up with Melissa. In the video we can see Melissa handing over something to the man (is it a tape recorder?) and all she just says “Do it.” Spencer automatically thinks the man is Cyrus and that Melissa is handing over Ali’s story and decides that it is time to finally tell the truth about everything.

At Ali’s house, Ali confesses to Emily that she actually does know Cyrus from when she was hiding out. They lived together in a basement and he was the one who gave her that scar on her leg. It seems like Ali wants to put him away and is using this as her reasoning. Em is feeling bad but is sticking to her guns about not turning against Cyrus.

At Ezra’s place, Aria fills him in on the latest “A” gossip. Instantly Ezra decides he needs to get involved and talk to Ali and convince her not to send Cyrus to jail. Why does he think he would have more pull over Ali then her best friends? Aria makes him promise not to go see her and he obliges for about two seconds before he sees her at The Brew. The conversation doesn’t go very far as Ali’s dad shows up to cart her off to the police station. Oh Ezra, when will you ever learn to stay out of things?

Spencer heads home and finds Melissa there waiting for her. Spencer says she knows about the flights Melissa is looking at to get away and about her working with Mona. Melissa falls back on her classic line of “I’m doing this for you” and even tries to get Spencer to run away with her. We actually believe Melissa this time around because, in all honesty, who doesn’t want Ali to get what she deserves?

Meanwhile, in Hannaland there are choir auditions to be at and who gets paired together? Obviously Hanna and Mona. The audition never happens, however, because when Mona stands up she immediately faints. Hanna is there to help and when Mona asks for her purse Hanna sees that she has a mug shot of Cyrus in her bag.

Hanna confronts Mona outside in her car and accuses her of setting up Cyrus. When Mona denies it the pair end up waiting around outside the police station so they can follow Cyrus back to “A” when he is released. While they are waiting Mona reveals to Hanna that she has been having panic attacks ever since Ali returned to Rosewood which leads to her passing out. During this bonding moment Mona listens in on Det. Tanner’s phone (because she hacked it, of course) and learns that Ali identified the basement and that Cyrus will be charged.

Despite being charged, Cyrus manages to escape the police station with his magic powers or something equally as ridiculous.

All of the girls have found out what Ali did and betraying her friends does not go over well for anyone. Emily actually tells Alison that she is completely done with her for good. Yay, Emily! The rest of the Liars decide that it’s finally time to cut Ali loose and go to the police.

It’s the end of the episode and Ali, dressed as Vivian Darkbloom, meets up with Cyrus. It’s seems that two got a little cozy together after all as Cyrus wants to go tell the police the truth. Ali brushes him off and sends him on his way.

In the closing scene we see “A” doing laundry and we can see that “A” is folding a candy-striped uniform.

Are we finally getting to the end of the Alison-ruling? It’s about time the girls finally stood up to her and started making their own decisions.
