Pretty Little Liars introduced fans to the new ABC Family spinoff Ravenswood while advancing the mystery regarding Allison and the A Team. Read on for our recap!

Beware, as spoilers abound!

The Pretty Little Liars are in Ravenswood to follow up on a lead to see whether or not Ali (Sasha Pieterse) is alive. The Pretty Little Liars are dressed to the nines in period piece costumes complete with nifty hats. The girls split up and Mrs. Grunwald (Meg Foster) warns Emily (Shay Mitchell) to get out. Aria (Lucy Hale) helps to save a Ravenswood girl, Mia, from the spooky graveyard as Spencer (Troian Bellisario) noticeably freaks out.

The girls rule out Luke (Brett Dier) as Ali’s board shorts and follow Red Coat into a mausoleum. Hanna brings up the ghost story that Ali told in Pretty Little Liars’ first season Halloween episode about a girl stabbing her sister as Hanna spies two creepy girls. Caleb takes a bus from Rosewood to Ravenswood to help Hanna (Ashley Benson) and meets Miranda (Nicole Gale Anderson) who is looking for her uncle.

Spencer discovers a secret passageway in the mausoleum and the girls move a disturbing statue to go downstairs into the unknown. As the girls descend down the stairs, the door automatically shuts on them and Hanna proceeds to freak out. In the dead cell zone, a gust of wind attacks the girls and Hanna is taken. A statue is put in her place.

Caleb alienates Miranda by asking her if she has let her uncle (Steven Cabral) know she’s coming. Caleb shares some of his personal history about his father to get back on Miranda’s good side. Miranda has been in abusive foster homes and almost gets off of the bus to turn back around to Scranton, before being spooked.

Hanna is lost in Ravenswood’s catacombs and finds the message “Help Me” on the walls. She asks for Ali until she sees the rats and runs away, finding a doorway out into a spooky manor. The manor already has a resident as a man appears, dressed up in a First World War outfit complete with a gas mask.

Miranda and Caleb arrive in Ravenswood and split up at Miranda’s insistence, as she wants to face her uncle alone. Caleb enters the graveyard as a statue turns to watch Miranda leave. Hanna explores the manor but only finds an old-fashioned telephone. As she dials for help, the rest of the Pretty Little Liars find Hanna’s hat and continue their search. Hanna is locked into the phone booth while she sees a pair of glowing eyes approach the box on all sides. The phone rings and chimes with old-time music about a solider.

Miranda arrives at her uncle’s home only to find it abandoned, save for old photographs and portraits. Aria, Emily, and Spencer question Ravenswood’s zoning laws as they too find the manor, only to have blood drip from the ceiling. The girls hear Ali’s voice and Spencer runs off to find the source. Hanna sees Ali’s face in the glass followed by the gas mask wearing solider, who both disappear when Miranda opens the booth’s door.

Hanna is suspicious of Miranda as they get lost in the manor. The girls stumble upon open caskets, and while Hanna wants to escape the spookiness, Miranda has a flashback to her uncle talking to her at her parents’ funeral. Emily and Aria stumble upon a chemical room of some sort with an open window. They narrowly escape the window closing on them when they hear a girl’s scream.

Spencer searches the manor’s greenroom for Ali and encounters the figure in the gas mask. The two violently struggle and Spencer knocks him down with pliers. When Spencer goes to remove his mask, the man gets up and turns, making Spencer knock her head and black out. Hanna and Miranda meet up with Caleb while Aria and Emily find Spencer, who quickly wakes up.

Hanna leads Miranda and Caleb to the room where the Pretty Little Liars found the passageway, only to see Miranda’s tombstone. As Aria, Emily, and Spencer run after the sound, they find that it’s just a recording and Mrs. Grunwald mysteriously appears.

Mrs. Grunwald confirms that Ali was there and prophesies that one of them was touched by the one Ali feared the most. Could this be referring to Aria and Ezra? Is Ezra the one she fears the most?

Hanna offers for Miranda to accompany them back to Rosewood but she refuses their help. Hanna asks Caleb to stay and help Miranda find her uncle as the two share a passionate semi-goodbye kiss and sentiments. Caleb and Miranda head off as Hanna sees the two girls in red coats once more.

The Pretty Little Liars reunite and need a spare tire when Ezra (Ian Harding), dressed in his own period costume, shows up. Ezra gives the girls a ride home as Spencer leaves her car in Ravenswood. A bit too convenient, don’t you think?

When Erza drops them off, the girls believe they spy Ali once more and race after her through the woods. Red Coat turns around, revealing her blonde hair, and turns out to be Allison. With a “Did you miss me?” Ali explains that she is still not safe and needs help from the girls to come home. She reminds Hanna of the conversation they had when she was in the hospital saying that it is important. A shadowy figure of Ezra appears to return Aria’s phone and Ali disappears. And to top it off, Caleb finds his own name on a tombstone in Ravenswood.

What do you think? Are you shocked by this episode? Do you think Ezra is really A? Do you think the girls suspect him? Are you glad a mystery is solved? Are you happy to see Ali alive?

Who do you think was the man with the gas mask? Do you think it was Ezra? Do you think Ali is alive?
