These five characters will make their triumphant return to Pretty Little Liars in season 7. What kind of trouble could they get up to in Rosewood?

The Pretty Little Liars showrunner, Marlene King, has described season 7 as the “season of homecomings,” which is great news because we still have so many unanswered questions about some of the forgotten characters! It’s likely that this season will be the show’s last, so we’re looking forward to seeing these characters again for what could be the last time.

The five characters that we know for sure will make an appearance in the first half of season 7 are Paige McCullers (Lindsey Shaw), Jenna Marshall (Tammin Sursok), Noel Kahn (Brant Daugherty), Jason DiLaurentis (Drew Van Acker) and Wren Kingston (Julian Morris). We’re sure this list will keep growing, but for now there’s a lot to speculate about what these characters could be up to in Pretty Little Liars season 7.

Paige McCullers

Paige’s most notable role in the Pretty Little Liars series has obviously been that of Emily’s most serious girlfriend. We last saw her when she was leaving Rosewood to go to college in Califonia, but Emily has since mentioned that she’s seen her a few times since graduation, although they never rekindled their relationship in any serious capacity.

According to Lindsey Shaw’s IMDB page, Paige’s only appearance in the first half of Pretty Little Liars season 7 will be in episode 8. Given the fact that she’ll only be in one episode, we’re guessing there won’t be a significant Paily (Paige/Emily) reunion, especially since they didn’t get back together during their time in California.

After being largely forgotten since season 5, Emison (Emily/Alison) is coming back with a vengeance. Paige’s cameo appearance could very well be used to fuel Alison’s feelings for Emily and finally bring these two girls to the next level in their romance. This could be especially interesting given Paige and Alison’s hostile past! We doubt Paige will be giving her blessing to that couple anytime soon.

Jenna Marshall

Jenna has always been one of Rosewood’s most suspicious characters. Her past with the Liars has been complicated to say the least, so if one of these returning characters is going to be an enemy to the girls, Jenna’s a prime suspect. She has been connected to the A team and has tried to hurt Alison in the past, so she could be coming back to Rosewood to finish what she started

Tammin Sursok’s IMDB page reveals that Jenna will have a fairly significant presence in the first half of Pretty Little Liars season 7. Her guest appearance will begin in episode 4 and will presumaly end in episode 7. Jenna was last seen in the Pretty Little Liars season 5 Christmas episode. She appeared to be a part of Alison’s new squad, but it turns out she was just “doing what she needed to do to survive,” and had no loyalties to Alison.

One character who’s been mysteriously absent from season 7 so far is Sara Harvey. We can totally see Jenna Marshall/Sara Harvey teaming up or even being in a relationship. These girls have a similar creepy and suspicious presence, and they also both blame the girls for a physical injury. If Jenna’s coming back to Rosewood, we’re guessing her intentions won’t be friendly, so who better to help her in her vendetta than someone who has the same one!

Noel Kahn

Noel Kahn is the one completely random Pretty Little Liars character that we just can’t seem to shake. He seems to make some sort of weird cameo in every season, which could possibly mean that he’s significant to the A story line. His constant presence yet rare inclusion in the show would make it believable that he could be lurking in the shadows.

Noel will appear in two episodes in the summer Pretty Little Liars season according to Brant Daugherty’s IMDB page. We’ll have to wait a while to see him, as he won’t make his first appearance until episode 8. His second appearance will be in episode 9, which is suspiciously titled “The Wrath of Kahn.” That episode title doesn’t bode well for Mr. Kahn’s innocence!

We last saw Noel in season 5 when he was helping Alison. Even though he was helping her, they were far from trusted allies. Alison knew a secret about Noel that allowed her to blackmail him, and Noel was desperately searching for a way to blackmail her back. He had to do some very questionable things in his time as Ali’s helper, so he could be eager to get revenge. While we doubt he is Uber A, he could definitely be looking to cause some trouble for Alison. Maybe his secret will even finally come out!

Jason DiLaurentis

Of all the characters on this list, Jason is the one we’d definitely expect to see in Pretty Little Liars season 7. With the Charlotte story line and his aunt(?), Mary Drake, being at the forefront of the show right now, it makes sense for Jason to be around to. Also, Alison and Jason have never been the closest siblings, especially since Jason didn’t agree with Charlotte’s release, but you’d think he’d stop by to visit his sister when she was checked into a psychiatric institution!

Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing Drew Van Acker’s beautiful face until episode 7 if his IMDB page is to be believed. Although Elliot claims to be in touch with him, he’s currently M.I.A. as far as the rest of Rosewood is concerned.

We last saw Jason in the first half of Pretty Little Liars season 6 when Charlotte was still alive, but we’ve had some updates on him since. The last we heard, Jason is working at the Carissimi Group, which is the only known affiliate to Mary Drake and Elliot. Any connection to Elliot is very concerning, but a connection to Mary Drake may not be so bad.

Jason definitely has a complicated history with Charlotte/Charles, but he seemed eager to get to know the sibling that was taken from him in season 6. We don’t believe that Jason is in anyway responsible for what’s currently happening to Alison, but he could be working with Mary Drake to help find Charlotte’s killer and bring them to justice. Even if he’s currently working with Elliot, we’re hoping he’ll cut him out of the equation once he figures out how evil he is!

Wren Kingston

The “Wren is A” theory has been one of the most popular fan theories for a long time now, and it may finally be coming to fruition. Wren is coming back! Could it be to confess his allegiance to the A team (or admit that he’s been pulling the strings all along)? We think so, and there’s some convincing evidence as to why.

After checking out Julian Morris’ IMDB page, we know that he’ll be appearing in only one episode during the summer season, but it’s a big one! Wren will appear in episode 10, which is the finale of the summer Pretty Little Liars season, and it’s titled “The DArkest Knight.”

The fact that he’ll appear in the finale is a pretty big indicator that he’ll be involved in something big. On top of that, the “knight” reference in the title could point to the fact that he’s one of two people from England on the show (the other whom we already know to be evil)! Lending fuel to the fire is that fact that Mary Drake flew in from London right before Charlotte was killed.

Elliot and Mary Drake couldn’t have just waltzed in and taken charge. They would have to know someone who’d been around for a while who was willing to help them gain control of the Liars. We’re willing to bet that person is Wren, and that he’ll reveal himself to the audience or the Liars in the summer season finale!

What role do you think these characters will play in ‘Pretty Little Liars’ season 7?
