The music video for Britney Spears and Iggy Azalea’s “Pretty Girls” is out now, and it’s… less than what you were hoping for.

The colorful, ’80s-themed “Pretty Girls” music video, directed by Cameron Duddy and Iggy, looks promising for an ever so brief moment — Britney is looking as hot as ever as she works on her nails and watches a spaceship land in her pool. But from there things get weird. Iggy is for some reason an alien from an outside planet despite the song being about “Pretty Girls” around the world, not the galaxy (unless we’re implying Australia is a foreign planet to us sheltered Americans?).

To make matters worse, Iggy Azalea is not a good actress with that alien voice. There’s also some lame product placement for Samsung phones. Toward the end we see what looks like a potential Britney Spears dance break down, but it only lasts five seconds.

Britney looks great, and her dancing isn’t bad, but we can’t see this video assisting “Pretty Girls” sales. Oh well — it’s a fun video to watch at least!

The ladies will perform “Pretty Girls” live this Sunday at the Billboard Music Awards on ABC. During the same show Taylor Swift will drop her music video for “Bad Blood” which is slated to include women like Lena Dunham, Jessica Alba, Hailee Steinfeld, Ellie Goulding, Hayley Williams, and several others.
