Presidents are people too, guys. During his appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, President Obama was “extended the courtesy” of reading some mean tweets people have written about him.

Barack Obama made an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel’s ABC late-night show yesterday, and we got answers to all the things we really care about: is Obama friends with Kanye? (No.) Do aliens exist? (No… or do they?) What does a normal day in the life of a President look like?

One of the highlights of the show was when Obama participated in Kimmel’s “Mean Tweets” segment, reading aloud some mean comments people have written about him on the internet.

On a related note, Obama also talked a bit about the internet and Twitter in general, revealing that – surprise! – he doesn’t really have time to tweet:

Obama also dug a little deeper though, discussing Ferguson, student aid, and why Washington doesn’t work:

Speaking a bit about what happened in Ferguson, Obama reflected on the real problem with docial inequality:

This was one of the best segments of the night; Obama made sure to point out that while things are indeed getting better, there’s still more work to do to secure true equality.

As his recent speech in Selma reminded him: real social change happens when ordinary people make their voices heard.

Also… are aliens real?!

Well, we’re gonna have nightmares now. Thanks, Obama!
