NBC and DC Comics’ upcoming comedy series Powerless might need some saving.

Powerless got some good buzz at San Diego Comic Con this year, but the show already seems to be in some trouble as its showrunner has decided to exit the project. According to The Hollywood Reporter, series creator Ben Queen has left Powerless ahead of production.

The series was set to start filming this month but has now been put on hold due to Queen’s exit. It seems that production will be on hold until a new showrunner is named by Warner Bros. Television and NBC. It’s being reported that Queen left the series due to “creative differences.”

Powerless was set to premiere mid-season but had not yet announced a premiere date. NBC still has time to make the mid-season premiere if their search doesn’t take too long. Hopefully, they’re able to find the right fit without compromising the series.

Read the synopsis for Powerless below:

“In the first comedy series set in the universe of DC Comics, Vanessa Hudgens plays Emily, a spunky young insurance adjuster specializing in regular-people coverage against damage caused by the crime-fighting superheroes. But it’s when she stands up to one of these larger-than-life figures (after an epic battle messes with her commute) that she accidentally becomes a cult “hero” in her own right… even if it’s just to her group of lovably quirky coworkers. Now, while she navigates her normal, everyday life against an explosive backdrop, Emily might just discover that being a hero doesn’t always require superpowers.”
