In a report looking at today’s launch of the Harry Potter eBook launch in the Pottermore store, The Wall Street Journal revealed a few interesting details about what’s in store for the future.

Of particular interest is this blurb about the future of Potter eBooks, which indicates that enhanced editions will follow:

Enhanced editions that may have video and other features will eventually follow. The bookstore’s website is shop.pottermore.com.

The article goes on to note that Pottermore has not yet struck a deal with Apple’s iBookstore, which is why the books are not available on iPad just yet (unless you use the Kindle app).

A marketing campaign is not planned for the new version of these stories, as they expect demand and word of mouth on its own to be high.

We wonder what could possibly be included in Harry Potter enhanced eBooks with video. Clips from the films? New content from J.K. Rowling?

Thanks to the Wall Street Journal.
