New moments were released on Pottermore on Thursday and reveal new writing from Harry Potter author, J.K. Rowling.

Pottermore continues their way through the fourth book in the Harry Potter series, titled Goblet of Fire with today’s release. Inside, Rowling shared light on new information about Triwizard tournament schools Beauxbatons and Durmstrang, and touched on The Daily Prophet.

Concerning Beauxbatons, the author writes, “It is said that the stunning castle and grounds of this prestigious school were part-funded by alchemist gold, for Nicolas and Perenelle Flamel met at Beauxbatons in their youth, and a magnificent fountain in the middle of the school’s park, believed to have healing and beautifying properties, is named for them.”

Of Durmstrang, Rowling writes about the school’s dark history and its secret location: “Although believed to be situated in the far north of Europe, Durmstrang is one of the most secretive of all schools about its whereabouts, so nobody can be quite certain.”

Finally, Rowling shared an overview of The Daily Prophet and how it got its name.

Absent from the new Pottermore chapters are backstories about any of the characters who feature prominently like Rita Skeeter, but perhaps they will come in future releases.
