While doing press for 21 Jump Street, Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) discussed their LEGO Movie project at Warner Bros., including discussing possible “intellectual properties” (Read: Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars) that could make an appearance. More info after the jump!

Speaking with Collier (via FSR), Chris Miller offered the following:

“I will give you one piece of tidbit which is that there are some [Intellectual Property] characters, LEGO characters, but we can’t say who they are (laughs). That’s not really a tidbit, but it’s not just all original characters, there are some from other things that you might recognize.”

Those “intellectual property” characters no doubt refer to popular LEGO toys of such films as Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and many more. Assuming all the copyright stuff can be squared away, seeing these characters in a possible LEGO Movie would be a no-brainer for Warner Bros., particularly considering they own the rights to certain characters, namely Potter.

Would be interested in seeing your favorite characters appear as LEGOs on the big screen?
