The latest season of American Horror Story: 1984 is adding actress Angelica Ross, a cast member from another Ryan Murphy property, Pose.

There has been quite a lot of talk regarding who we can expect to see in the cast of American Horror Story: 1984. While it’s mildly devastating to learn that AHS staples Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters are bowing out of this season (though Paulson may still make a cameo), we’re pretty excited to hear that Angelica Ross from Pose is joining the AHS family.

According to Variety, Ryan Murphy made the announcement on his Instagram on Wednesday (which we’ve linked to but won’t embed here because the post contains Pose spoilers), and it has got us all incredibly excited. Ross won all of our hearts playing the character Candy Abundance Ferocity on Pose, and we are so excited to see what outrageous adventures of terror we’re going to go on with Ross in AHS: 1984.

As with previous seasons, there’s not a lot that we know about the latest season of American Horror Story. Earlier, Murphy released a teaser trailer for the latest season that had an ’80s slasher flick vibe to it, but it’s unclear what that actually means for the season. Plus, you can’t help but wonder if Murphy intended to draw some ties between his the title of the latest season and the classic dystopian novel by George Orwell, Nineteen Eighty-Four.

The past couple seasons of American Horror Story have been met with mixed reviews from fans and critics, but we can’t think of anything to make the latest season more of a slam dunk than adding one of the most beloved actresses from Pose to the American Horror Story family. We can’t wait to find out more about this season and Ross’ role.

American Horror Story: 1984 will premiere on FX on September 18, so get ready!
