Now that the news of Coleman’s casting has had a chance to sink in, we want to hear your thoughts on the actress, and your first impressions on her suitability for the show. So – what do you think?

In case you missed any of yesterday’s announcements, Steven Moffat revealed in a press conference yesterday that the Emmerdale star would be stepping into the TARDIS as the new companion in this year’s Christmas special. She will take over from Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill, who are due to depart in the fifth episode of the seventh series in a face-off with The Weeping Angels.

Coleman’s character will be vital to one of the biggest mysteries in the show’s history, presumably the question that ended the show’s sixth series: “Doctor Who?“. However, given her importance and the strong likelihood that she will be the Doctor’s companion for the big 50th anniversary special, she will need to really impress fans.

Based on your first impressions (whether they be from just pictures and her interview, or based on her previous work), do you think Jenna-Louise Coleman will make a good Doctor Who companion?
