A movie based on Pokemon and the video game Detective Pikachu has found its star.

According to Variety, up-and-comer Justice Smith will take the lead role in the new movie being developed by Legendary. He’s best known for roles in the book-to-film adaptation of Paper Towns and Netflix’s The Get Down.

The movie is based on the Pokemon spinoff Detective Pikachu. According to a synopsis of the game: “Despite not being as powerful and nimble as other Pikachu of his kind, [Detective Pikachu is] rather intelligent and claims to be a great detective. One day, Pikachu encounters a boy named Tim Goodman, who is able to understand what he is saying. Thus, the two begin working together to solve various mysteries revolving around Pokémon in the city.”

The project was put into motion a few months after the wild success of Pokemon Go, but hasn’t moved much in the past year. The film does not have a release date yet.

As previously reported, Goosebumps director Rob Letterman is slated to helm.
