Episode 3 of Poké Chat is here! Tune in to hear the hosts’ thoughts on the next two episodes of the Pokémon TV show, along with some exciting news in the Pokémon series!

The podcast is still in its trial period, so make sure to chime in below to support the show!

-Episode 105 “Showdown in Pewter City” introduces a man who turns out to be Brock’s father! They had similar voices, but they don’t have the same voice actor in this episode.

-Ash is able to use his electrical attacks against the rock/ground type Pokémon Onyx and Geodude. It’s possible for electric attacks to damage rock, but not ground! This is Gen I, but still, the games didn’t let you use your Pikachu’s thundershock against Brock.

-Misty states that she would have let Ash borrow some of her water Pokémon to use against Brock’s rock types. Would this have been the equivalent of a trade?

-Was it abuse for Ash to put Pikachu through the torture of those electrical attacks?

-Brock has a very interesting and dark background, especially with a missing father and dead mother.

-Ash wins his battle against Brock by default. This won’t be the first gym battle that Ash will win based on his showmanship of “friendship and love for all Pokémon!”

-“Clefairy and the Moonstone” presented a very interesting theory as to the origin of the Pokémon species. We wonder how parents who don’t believe in Evolution would react to this show’s origin story.

-Britney and Mitch relate with each other about how the Zubats that Seymour the scientist is being attacked by are representative of the amount of the creatures present in the video game’s Mt. Moon.

-Do the Clefairy pray to the Moon Stone because it’s in their nature, or because they have a deeper understanding of a higher being?

-We question where the stones used to evolve certain Pokémon are applied.

-Those helpful trainers, always writing their useful information on sign posts! “Gary was here. Ash is a loser” was on the sign leading to Misty’s hometown, Cerulean City.

-Pokéfun features a highlight of the Gen II forgotten gem Octillery, and a fun 3D Gold/Silver fan remake!

-News includes some information on the recently aired Pokémon movie on Cartoon Network in the US, the ability for Mac users to play the online TCG game, and codes for special Sinnoh starters that will be included in specially marked Walmart copies of Black and White 2.
